*Why Do I need a Board Certified Surgeon?

Elliot Sambol, M.D.

Dr. Elliot Sambol was born and raised in Lakewood, New Jersey. After graduating asSambol valedictorian of his high school class, Dr. Sambol went on to the University of Pennsylvania where he majored in neurobiology and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude. Dr. Sambol returned to NJ in 1996 where he attended UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. While at UMDNJ, he was elected into to the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society.

After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Sambol went on to NYU Medical Center in New York City for a 5 year General Surgery residency. Dr. Sambol spent two additional years performing basic science surgical research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Upon completion of his general surgical training, Dr. Sambol did a 2 year fellowship in vascular/endovascular surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Cornell/Columbia. Dr. Sambol is currently board certified in general surgery, the American Board of Surgery.

Dr. Sambol’s main interests and expertise are in the practice of endovascular surgery, and he is board certified in General and Vascular surgery. His training in New York has provided him with cutting edge techniques to perform minimally invasive surgery addressing all aspects of vascular disease. Dr. Sambol has been actively involved in research regarding carotid artery stenting as well as lower extremity angioplasty and atherectomy procedures. He joined Princeton Surgical Associates in 2009.
