About Us
General Info
Our staff is available to answer your questions and help you with your medic al problems. Our physicians will generally try to return calls at the end of each business day.
Appointment hours are Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Telephone Inquiry hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to noon
and 1:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Our nurses and staff can help you with many questions and they are available through our regular office number. If you would like to leave voice mail for our nurses, this can be done through the menu selection at our main office number, 609-921-7223. Voice mail is returned several times each day. Appointments
Appointments for routine office visits and services are available Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., and 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Our Front Office supervisor is Debbie Dempsey. Please call 609-921-7223 and ask to schedule an appointment, or click here to request an appointment online. We will make every effort to accommodate your needs, providing the physician’s schedule permits. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please notify our office as soon as possible. Repeated “no shows” or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may result in a scheduling charge.
Emergencies
All patients with an emergency surgical issue should call 911 and immediately initiate transport to the nearest emergency room. There is a surgeon from our office on-call at all times. They can visit you in the emergency room, if needed. Please inform the emergency room that you are a patient of Princeton Surgical Associates and we will be contacted. Our office staff is capable of handling many urgent questions. Should you develop an urgent situation during the day, please contact us and we may be able to accommodate you in the office. Office Visits
We request that our new patients complete the medical history, patient registration and HIPAA disclosure forms. Click here to access these forms online so you can complete them and bring them with you to expedite your office visit. We ask our patients to update this registration information yearly so that we can know and serve you better. Please bring any medical records, x-rays, test results or other pertinent information, as well as your insurance card and photo ID, with you to all office visits. We will remind you of these items when you call to make your appointment. Click here to send an email to our front office if you have any questions about your medical records.
Our office expects payment at the time of your visit. Please bring a check, credit card, or cash to cover your insurance plan obligations such as co-pays and deductibles.
Please sign in at our reception desk when arriving in our office. We make every effort to keep on schedule and apologize if an appointment time falls behind due to emergencies and other unforeseen circumstances. We do our best to accommodate ALL of our patients, and your understanding is greatly appreciated.
Before you leave at the end of your appointment, please don’t forget to “check out” with our exit secretary. If you brought any X-rays, medical charts or other records, please remember to take them with you unless the surgeon specifically asked you to leave them. You will be expected to pay your co-pays or other balances due at the time you exit our office.

Scheduling Surgery
Patricia Volk is the supervisor in our scheduling department and has been with Princeton Surgical Associates for many years. All procedures to be done in the hospital, endoscopy center, and the out-patient surgery center are scheduled through this office. We realize scheduling surgery can be very stressful. During this time, any questions, information, or concerns related to your procedure can be addressed to our surgical scheduling coordinator. Test Results
We have a tracking system to insure that each patient is notified of their results. It is important to note that pathology or cytology results may take as long as 3-5 days to process. We will call you as soon as we have your results, but if you have any questions regarding your results, please do not hesitate to contact us or leave voice mail for our nurses. Prescription Refill
Prescriptions and refills are issued during our regular office hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., by calling our nursing voice mail, 609-921-7223. Twenty four hour notice would be appreciated. We can only refill prescriptions that our surgeons have originally written for. If it has been longer than several months since you last saw your surgeon, the physicians may request another visit to reassess your problem prior to renewing your medications. State law in New Jersey is very strict and narcotic renewals can not be done over the phone. Insurance
We currently participate with many insurance companies, including traditional fee-for-service programs as well as many health maintenance organizations. We are happy to see and care for all patients. HMO plans limit patient options and only allow us to see patients if we are a member of the HMO. We are members of many HMO plans.{link to list} PPO plans allow patients to see any doctor out-of- network. Our office is happy to accommodate these patients. Please call or email us with your questions prior to your visit and our billing staff can clarify what is covered during your visit. State law mandates that surgical emergencies seen in the emergency room can be cared for by any physician. This is regardless of whether the surgeon participates in your plan or not. Fees and Payment
The encounter form which your doctor will give you at the end of each visit is our guide for services rendered in the office. The encounter form is used to schedule new or follow-up appointments and the information on this sheet is critical for appropriate coding and billing. Please give this form to the exit secretary as you leave the office.
It is our policy to collect the payment due from the patient at the time services are rendered. This may only be your co-payment, deductible or co-insurance, but we ask that you pay at the time of your visit. We accept VISA, Mastercard and American Express as well as personal checks and cash. It is important to us that our patients have a clear understanding of their responsibility to satisfy their financial obligation for services rendered. Privacy
At Princeton Surgical Associates, PA, we are committed to treating and using protected health information about you responsibly. The issue of identity theft has gained national prominence and Princeton Surgical Associates has many policies in place to help protect your identity. We ask that all patients bring some form of picture ID to help with our goal of serving you accurately and protecting your medical records. Many patients have similar names and we want to avoid any potential confusion in providing you the best in medical care. Dr. Henry Davison is our privacy officer. Medical Questions and Concerns
Click here to view our list of Frequently Asked Questions. If you do not find an answer to your question, call our trained nursing staff at 609-921-7223. Our nursing staff, supervised by Nancy E. Remer, R.N., B.S.N., consists of registered nurses and licensed practical nurses. The staff is qualified to answer many medical inquiries and will confer with a doctor as needed. We experience a high volume of telephone calls, so we ask for your patience and understanding. Our receptionist will take your name and phone number, and someone will return your call as soon as possible. Vascular Laboratory
We are proud of our two state-of-the-art vascular laboratories. One lab is located at our Witherspoon Street office and the other one is in Jamesburg, Monroe Township, NJ. Dr. Kenneth A. Goldman is the director of both ICAVL certified laboratories. All studies are performed by either Robert Outcault or Mohini Vankadhara, both registered vascular technicians. In many cases, appointments for procedures in the vascular lab in Princeton will be followed by a formal visit with one of our vascular surgeons. Billing Office
The billing office is managed by Nancy N. Jewusiak, A.A. This office is responsible for all billing and coding. All surgical procedures and office visits require a specific code for insurance payments. We make every effort to insure accurate billing and coding.
