Tomer Davidov, M.D., FACS
Dr. Tomer Davidov is a general and endocrine surgeon. He was raised in New York City where he graduated from the Bronx High School of Science. He completed the accelerated 7-year B.A.-M.D. medical program at Boston University and Boston University School of Medicine where he was selected as a Trustee Scholar and graduated with honors. Dr. Davidov completed his 6-year general surgery residency at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (formerly the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey) including his chief residency year in 2006. He was the recipient of multiple academic, humanism, and teaching awards and was voted as "Resident of the Year". He then completed a year of surgical fellowship training at the abdominal organ transplant program at Columbia University - Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. He was recruited back to the Department of Surgery at Rutgers where he spent his first 11 years in academic practice as a general and endocrine surgeon. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, the American Hernia Society, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Davidov has developed a well-regarded referral general and endocrine surgery practice. He routinely receives high marks from patients on hospital and national patient satisfaction surveys for his excellent surgical outcomes and warm bedside manner. He has been named a New Jersey Monthly's Top Doc, among other awards. Dr. Davidov is also the recipient of many teaching awards from the medical students and surgical residents. He performs research on general and endocrine surgery topics and has presented his work at many national meetings. His contributions to the medical literature in the area of thyroid surgery are especially strong and have been referenced in the American Thyroid Association’s national practice guidelines. He was also selected as a National Science Foundation medical grant reviewer.
Dr. Davidov has expertise in minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery, hernia surgery (inguinal, umbilical, ventral, incisional) including complex abdominal wall reconstruction, endocrine surgery including thyroid and parathyroid surgery, gallbladder surgery, surgery of the colon, small bowel, appendix, stomach, pancreas, spleen, and adrenal, as well as other complex abdominal surgery. Dr. Davidov lives in Basking Ridge, New Jersey with his wife and 3 children.
